Master Mommy

Pregnant Before College?
There are moms around the world who may be thinking “I can’t get an education, I have a child to raise” or “I don’t have the kind of time and resources I need to be able to do this with a child”. Let me enlighten that topic a bit. There are women around the world getting degrees and finding the work they want to be involved in every single day. It is not impossible, it’s just a task that needs to be thought out a little more specifically.
Online or Campus?
Most of us imagine going to college online so that it would free up enough time for you to manage the classes and the kids, but the campus life is something that can be an option for us mommy’s as well.
Pros and Cons of Online :
Pros :
- Grants a more flexible schedule
- Allows you to stay home with the child instead of search and pay for child care
- Requires no traveling to and from
Cons :
- You have no access to speak with anyone face to face, it’s all over the phone
- You might need to face chat a few times, (hopefully they can handle the sounds of a baby lol)
- You have to acquire strong wifi and hope nothing crashes and slows you down.
Pros and Cons of Campus :
Pros:
- Some campuses provide child care services
- You get to learn hands on, or visually instead of reading most of your information. ( if your into that though, then great)
- You will meet many people, and acquire many supportive friendships.
Cons :
- You will have to pay for child care, unless you find a way around that
- You will have to travel with your child excessively
- You will spend a lot of time away from your child for classes
Regardless of the path you choose, you will be proud of yourself in the end.
Picking a Major
When you have a child, everything must be evaluated to figure out if that certain job will still allow you to be the mother you want to be.
For example, planning to become a traveling nurse may not be the best option for you, but becoming a local nurse and waiting on your child to get older to begin a traveling career could work.
I would recommend choosing a career that has a set schedule, a straight to the point job description, and a normal hourly rate. This will help a lot when determining how your schedule for your child and for work will flow smoothly.
It Can Be Done
Always remember that life will throw curve balls, we will be brought down, and we will feel as though there is no way out of the hole, but if we see that curve ball just right, we might just knock it out of the park. Hopeless feelings will raid us constantly, it’s how we choose to
interpret them that counts the most. So continue on with your dreams, there’s always a way around the obstacle.
Good luck mommy’s, we got this!
