1. Pick a Theme

There are so many themes out there that will catch your eye but when you find THE ONE, you’ll know it. Themes can range from a simple color to the jungle, or a race car movie. The pick is your mama!

Here are a few themes I think are so cute!!

P.S - you can never go wrong with a balloon arch

2. Food

Baby showers typically last anywhere from 2-3 hours depending on the size and the activities planned. For this amount of time I would definitely suggest picking finger foods.

There are so many really cute ways to spice up sweets and appetizer foods to match the theme of your shower.

Sweets Ideas

  • pretzels

  • Rice krispy treats

  • Cookies

  • Fruit

  • Cake pops

  • And ofc a cake!

Other food ideas

  • Pigs in a blanket

  • Sliders

  • Meat tray

  • Chips N dip

  • Meatballs

  • Cheese sticks

For the drinks, colored lemonade, koolaid, and of course, water, tea, or soda for the people who prefer that

3. Games

The games is what really makes or breaks the baby shower. There are plenty of games you could choose to fit into your audience.

You’ll want to choose games that are appropriate for all ages of the shower. The mother of my niece had quite an…. entertaining baby shower. She had this “make the baby” game, that is for an 18 and up audience to say the least. So my suggestion is to try and keep all vulgar games out of the equation if there will be kids at the shower.

Fun Baby Shower Games

  • Measure Mommy’s Bump

The guests will cut a piece of yard or string to the size they think will fit around the mommy’s belly exactly, whoever gets the closest wins.

  • Don’t Say Baby

Provide clips, necklaces, or bracelets for the guests to wear throughout the baby shower, every time someone hears someone else say baby they get to take their .. whatever .., whoever gets the most at the end of the shower wins.

  • Late Night Diapers

Lay out enough diapers for each guest to be able to write on one. The guests will write a quote on the diaper that the mommy will read when she is changing the baby’s diaper at night. It can be motivational, funny, or advice.

  • Pacifier Hunt

Hide about 20-25 pacifiers throughout the shower, whoever finds the most wins.

  • Diaper Pong

Tape or glue a few diapers to a large cardboard poster and set it up for the guests to throw ping pong balls into. You can play by points or just for fun.

  • Diaper Cake

Guess how many diapers are in the diaper cake, the guest with the closest guess wins.

Don’t forget to do a diaper raffle, the guests will bring a pack of diapers to enter their name into the raffle to win a prize.

4. Party Favors

Party favors are always a way to thank the guests for coming and supporting you. Plus, leaving with something from a party always makes it more memorable.

You can pretty much make anything a party favor, depending on how much you want to spend on that part.

You can check these out for a couple ideas.

These are the basics of planning a baby shower. It’s up to you to make it pop!!

Good luck mommy’s, we got this!!
